WHAT IS PTT?
PTT – Prehospital Trauma Team
Prehospital Trauma Team (PTT) is a structural protocol that guarantees efficient time management and detailed, high-quality care for prehospital trauma patients. Predefined roles both at scene and in the ambulance reduce paramedics' workload and improve teamwork.
The protocol consists of four phases:
- 1Preparation. All responders tune their mindset to the use of the protocol.
- 2At scene. Obtain the patient's preliminary status, perform life-saving interventions and prepare the ambulance for further assessment and treatment.
- 3In the ambulance. Assess and treat the patient according to the predefined roles.
- 4
Debriefing. Review and reinforce the methods and practices used during the mission.
