A passion for developing and training in prehospital care

 
Jani Kankainen

Jani Kankainen is a Paramedic who has worked in the prehospital setting for more than two decades and over a decade as an EMS Field Commander. He is one of the original developers of the PTT protocol. His interests include improving and streamlining teamwork as well as prehospital trauma care. 

Jani Piikki

Jani Piikki is a Paramedic with 16 years of experience in prehospital care, the last 8 of which as an EMS Field Commander. He is one of the developers of the PTT protocol and especially interested in communication and teamwork. 

Susanne Ångerman is a Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and PhD. She has worked as a full-time HEMS Physician for more than a decade. Her key interests include prehospital trauma care, prehospital use of blood products and refining teamwork. Her dissertation focused on changing operational practices and implementing new methods in prehospital care. 

Susanne Ångerman

Susanne Ångerman is a Specialist in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care and has worked as a full-time Emergency Physician on a Medical Helicopter for over 10 years. Her special interests include Emergency Care of injured patients, the use of blood products in the field, and improving teamwork. Her recent doctoral thesis deals with changing practices and implementing new methods in emergency care.

Jouni Nurmi
Jouni Nurmi is a Paramedic, Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and Adjunct Professor. He has over 10 years of HEMS experience. His research work, comprising of more than 70 international publications and several supervised doctoral theses, has made him a leading expert in evidence-based prehospital medicine. He has applied his expertise not only in patient care but also extensively in the education of paramedics and paramedic students.
Jussi Pirneskoski

Jussi Pirneskoski is a Specialist in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine and PhD. He has more than a decade of prehospital experience. He has extensive experience with prehospital concept courses and his research work focuses on the identification on critical conditions. 

Tuukka Toivonen

Tuukka Toivonen is a Paramedic and holds a Master of Business Administration. He moved from his work as a paramedic a few years ago to develop medical helicopter operations and has also worked on several research projects in emergency medicine. In the PTT team, he is responsible for commercial matters.

Our team consists of three HEMS physician, two EMS field commanders and one Paramedic.
